Kid Cudi went off the state of hip-hop with Arsenio Hall. Cudi hopes that more of his peers would use the platform of music to spread a better message other than bragging about material things.

“I think the money, cash, hoes thing needs to be deaded. I feel like that’s holding us back as a culture, as black people, it doesn’t advance us in any way, shape or form. We’ve been doing that same theme for years now."

He even explained his mission statement as an artist; it’s to keep kids from committing suicide.

“All I wanted to do was help kids not to feel alone and stop kids from committing suicide.”

He even said that if he were to rap about the material things he owned “there’d be no Drake.”
