Kendrick Lamar is leading the nominees for this year's Soul Train Awards.  The up-and-coming hip-hop star picked up nods in six categories, including Best New Artist.  Kendrick's track "Poetic Justice" featuring Drake was nominated in the categories of Song of the Year, Video of the Year and Best Hip-Hop Song of the Year. Meantime, his debut album good kid, m.A.A.d. city will go up against albums by Justin Timberlake, Miguel, Jay Z, Fantasia and Rihanna for Album of the Year. 

"K-Dot" isn't the only artist with multiple nominations.  Singers Miguel, Justin Timberlake, Robin Thicke, Chris Brown and Tamar Braxton landed five nominations each.  Hosted by comedian Anthony Anderson, the 2013 Soul Train Awards will take place on November 8th at The Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.  The awards ceremony will air on December 1st on BET and CENTRIC.
