Nelly is applauding the courage of kidnapping victim Amanda Berry. Berry and two other women -- Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight -- were held captive for years by Ariel Castro before being rescued in May. In her first appearance at a public event since her rescue, Berry took the stage with her family during The Roverfest in Cleveland on Saturday.
According to Allhiphop.com, following Nelly's performance at the festival, the rapper called Berry back on stage to receive a second round of applause. Nelly told the 27-year old that he couldn't imagine the type of "courage and strength" it took for her to keep going during her decade long confinement.
Amanda Berry's appearance came one day after Ariel Castro accepted a plea deal that will allow him to avoid the death penalty in exchange for life in prison.
