Twitter Reacts To Kyrie Irving Being Traded To The Boston Celtics

It's official. Kyrie Irving is being traded from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Boston Celtics.

In exchange, the Cavs will be adding some other equally talented baller players on to their roster. According to ESPN.com, "The Boston Celtics have acquired All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving from the Cleveland Cavaliers for point guard Isaiah Thomas, forward Jae Crowder, center Ante Zizic and Brooklyn's 2018 unprotected first-round pick, the teams announced Tuesday night."

Irving has been wanting to get traded for some time now. Rumors initially began surfacing that this desire was because he was having issues with Cavs All-American Lebron James. However, James said that those rumors weren't true. Last night (Aug. 22), he even tweeted his support and excitement for Irving's next move. See this message below.

Celtics' President of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge said in a statement about the trade: "This has obviously been a roller coaster of a day for us, trading away Isaiah and Jae and Ante, especially Isaiah and Jae, who have been such a big part of our team and our success and our Celtic culture as leaders of our team. Very, very difficult day. At the same time, a very exciting time [to add] one of the best offensive players in the league." He added that the phone call with Thomas after this decision was made was extremely difficult to have.

Since this news broke, social media has been in shock. Read some Twitter reactions to the big news below.
