BREONNA TAYLOR: Family Reaches Settlement With Louisville

TeeRoy's 2 Cents:

  • Millions of dollars may help the family, but it doesn't bring justice for Breonna Taylor.
  • Protests won't stop until the officers are charged.
  • The settlement isn't just about money. It's about reforming the way police officers conduct themselves and this settlement may save lives moving forward.

The family of Breonna Taylor has reportedly reached a settlement with the city of Louisville, Kentucky in their wrongful death lawsuit.

Terms of the settlement are expected to be revealed in a press conference this afternoon, but sources close to the family say it will include several million dollars paid to Taylor's family, as well as changes to the city's policing procedures. The family sued the city after police officers broke down Taylor's apartment door to execute a "no-knock" warrant and fatally shot her on March 13th.

No criminal charges have been filed against any of the three officers involved. One officer was fired and the other two have been reassigned. (TMZ)
