HURRICANE SALLY: 400K Without Power

Hurricane Sally is no more, but her damage along the Gulf Coast remains.

As of 8:30 p.m. ET Thursday, 400,000 customers are still without power. Many buildings have been destroyed, but fortunately, the death toll remains at just one person.

Sally came ashore near the Florida-Alabama border as a category 2 storm. But because it was moving so slowly, it dumped more than two feet of rain in some areas.

The remnants of the storm should move through the Carolinas and out to sea on Friday. (USA TodayNBC News)
