IN BLANKSTARE NEWS: Maternal Mortality Rates Could Rise Without Roe

Pregnancy-related deaths are expected to increase, especially among people of color, following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

Researchers are sounding the alarm saying there are going to be more people who are forced to carry a pregnancy to term, which means that there’s going to be a greater number of people who are at risk.

They also say the ban will disproportionately affect younger, poorer people of color and those who already have children.

America already has the highest maternal mortality rate of any developed country.
