Chadwick Boseman’s Wife Gives First Interview Since His Death

Simone Ledward Boseman, Chadwick Boseman’s widow, is opening up about his four-year battle with colon cancer and how she’s been dealing with her grief. “I can’t believe that I was so lucky,” she told Whoopi Goldberg in an interview on “Good Morning America," “I can’t believe that I got to love this person, and I also got them to love me too.”

She adds about her husband, "He was an artist, and he was a leader and he was a king. And that I got to be by his side for that -- that he chose me to be by his side for that is just -- it's the greatest blessing."

Talking about her mourning process, Simone said, “Some days I’m doing worse than I’m really willing to acknowledge and other days I’m doing better than I feel comfortable admitting. You know, the grief, it moves in.”
