So, once you've realized that it's not going anywhere, how much longer do you stay on the date? Do you stick it out for as long as it goes? Do you politely come up with a reason why you need to go home? The survey finds that, on average, people will stay on a bad date for 51 minutes. 58% of people said they would stay for the entire date. Of those, 72% say they'd do so to be polite. Some said they'd stay to see if the date improves, while others admit feeling too uncomfortable to make up an excuse to leave.
