Monday's deadly shooting in Louisville was the 146th mass shooting in America this year, which is just 100 days old. With gun violence on the rise in the country, so is the number of people who say they have lost a family member to gun violence.

According to a new study from the Kaiser Family Foundation, one in five Americans say they have a family member who was killed by a gun. The same number of people say they have personally been threatened by a gun. People of color were more likely to witness gun violence and have a family member killed by a gun.

The study also found that 41% of adults live in a household with guns, and of those, 75% said the guns were "stored in ways that don't reflect some common gun-safety practices," such as leaving it in an unlocked location, storing it loaded, and keeping it in the same location as the ammunition.
