How much do finances factor into a relationship? A lot. Even for younger generations. According to a new report from Credit Karma, 56% of Gen Zers and 61% of Millennials fight about money with their romantic partners. 41% of Gen Zers and 42% of Millennials say they fight with their significant other about money on a monthly basis. For Millennials, it’s the biggest source of their arguments – more than not being present or being on the phone too much (13%), spending time together (12%), chores (11%), and sex (11%). And according to the survey, 33% of Zoomers and 31% of Millennials have broken up with someone over financial issues. Money is so important to young people that many are researching their date’s job to see how much money they make.
