TIKTOK: A Lot of Music About to Disappear

Among the artists who could be gone as of late tonight (Wednesday): Taylor Swift, Bob Dylan, Adele, SZA, Billie Eilish, U2, The Beatles, Ariana Grande, Elton John, Coldplay, Alicia Keys, Harry Styles, Brandi Carlile and many others.

Music from many of your favorite artists is about to disappear from TikTok.

Universal Music Group says it's going to pull all of its songs off of the platform unless it negotiates a more generous royalty rate. UMG says TikTok pays "fraction of the rate" of other social media outlets, even though 60% of videos there include music.
