Bodycam Footage Of Deputy Shooting Woman Who Called 911 Released

Bodycam footage of the incident July 6th in Springfield, Illinois was released yesterday, showing the circumstances that led to a sheriff’s deputy shooting a woman three times in her own home and killing her after she had called 911 to report a suspected prowler. The woman seemed confused when the police arrived, and when they asked her to move a pot of boiling water off the stove she grabbed it, looked at the deputy, and said “I rebuke you in the name of Jesus.” The woman, Sonya Massey, had undergone treatment for mental illness. Deputy Sean Grayson has pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree murder, aggravated battery with a firearm, and official misconduct.
