People have different opinions on what age is too old to be knocking on doors demanding candy. Some cities and town have even issued ordinances cutting off the age at 14 or 16.

There's no age limit on enjoying Halloween. No matter how old you are, you can feel free to enjoy wearing costumes, eating candy, and decorating your house. But trick-or-treating? That's another story. People have different opinions on what age is too old to be knocking on doors demanding candy. Some cities and town have even issued ordinances cutting off the age at 14 or 16. But the Today show asked an etiquette expert to weigh in and she says it's not the age of the trick-or-treater that matters, it's their behavior. Basically, if they're being respectful and just enjoying the fun of trick-or-treating, there's nothing wrong with it. Nearly half of American adults polled agree. 46% said you're never too old to trick-or-treat, while 19% said age 15 or 16 is the age to stop. 16% said kids should stop at around 17 or 18, and 1% said they don't want anyone over the age of 9 knocking on their door.
