SisterHermana Foundation Hosts October Events to Raise Cancer Awareness and Support Warriors

The SisterHermana Foundation, a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting cancer warriors and their families, is leading the fight against cancer with two powerful community events this October.

Taking It to the Streets for Life

Date: Saturday, October 18, 2025 Time: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Location: Departing from Deb’s Store, 1478 Florida Avenue, Jacksonville, FL

This grassroots outreach initiative brings cancer awareness directly into Jacksonville neighborhoods. Volunteers will distribute Buddy Check 12 kits, mammogram resources, and voter education materials. The effort underscores the importance of early detection while empowering residents with life-saving information.

“We are not waiting for people to come to us — we’re taking resources directly into the community. Awareness plus action can save lives,” said Veronica Glover, Founder and Director of the SisterHermana Foundation.
