Well, I guess phone communication is a thing of the past. On Thursday (September 20), just hours after Kanye West went on a random Instagram rant attacking Nick Cannon, Drake, and Tyson Beckford (all of whom either shaded Kanye's wife Kim Kardashian or in Ye's words upset his spirt), Nick became the first of the three men to respond to Ye's rant.
āWelcome back, Ye, from the sunken place. Itās a beautiful thing, Iām glad youāre back with us brother,ā Nick began his two-video Instagram response. āNothing but love and respect for you brother, you know Iāve always had that. But I honestly got to say this, my dude. Iāve never said anything disrespectful or harmful to ya, in my opinion, to your marriage or your union. I salute it, keep it going.ā
āBut you are not gonna tell me what I can and what I canāt say, Iām a solid individual," Nick continued, referencing Kanye's rant where he told him not to mention his wife. "Someone asks me a question, Iām gonna answer it to the best of my ability. Iām gonna give my opinion," he added. "There aināt no harm, no foul. But I know it got your spirit feeling weird. Holla at me. You know where Iām at, you know what Iām saying. A manās spirit is free but pride binds it at times, so you gotta let that lose, let it lose.ā
As previously reported, Kanye's initial rant steemed from an Everyday Struggle interview where Nick said he didnāt think it was a āfar off of a conceptā that Drake and Kim hooked up. āFirst of all, I want to address Nick Cannon. I understand that you used to date my wife, but you know, you get into an interview, donāt mention my wife,ā Kanye said in his first of four Instagram videos on Thursday. āIf someone brings my wife up, say, āI respect that man, Iām not speaking on that.ā Donāt be making no suggestions ā like nobody f**ked my wife,ā Kanye said before directing his next statements to Drake.
Clearly, unbothered by Ye's words, the Wild 'N Out host continued his response, by saying, "letās talk about it. Come on the [Wild 'N Out]. Let's show itās all love ā¦ we can have a good time with this. It can be Mariah [Carey] jokes, Kim jokes, all that,ā Nick, who was married to Mariah for eight years, said in the video. āIn all seriousness, Iāve got nothing for love for you, but Iāmma always speak my mind, just like you always speak yours. Not you, not NBC, not no corporate infrastructures, no one is ever gonna control what I say because I speak truth, always. Itās love.ā
