3rd annual “Melanin Market” & Black History Parade

The Eastside Arts Vendors Market will host the 3rd annual “Melanin Market” & Black History Parade on February 23rd from 11am- 4 pm.

The Melanin Market and Parade has a strong emphasis on promoting local small businesses and organizations owned/led by African Americans. The goal is to highlight members and leaders within the African American community that have made a valuable impact in Black History.

There will be a parade starting from Matthew Gilbert Middle School and ending at the Market location on A. Philip Randolph Blvd and Union St. The school and street, both named after local African American leaders.

This will be the 3rd Parade, in a series of quarterly events presented by the Eastside Arts & Vendors Market. We average over 40 small businesses per event.

The vision for the event is to provide a neighborhood marketplace that provides fresh food options, showcases local black businesses, black-led nonprofits, artists, entertainers and educational and health programming that enhances the black community.

The Melanin Market will be held February 23rd from 11 am-4 pm on A. Philip Randolph Blvd between Jessie St. and Union this Street in city council district 7.
