The Entire City of Jacksonville is invited to join the MLK Memorial Foundation in celebrating Juneteenth on Saturday June 19, 2021-The Ritz Theater
We will celebrate the 156th anniversary of JUNETEENTH over the weekend of June 18-20. 2021. in Jacksonville, Florida. The scheduled activities will include the Inaugural Miss JUNETEENTH Pageant; The Freedom Walk Parade; JUNETEENTH at the Ritz; and the District of Soul's Father's Day Family ReunionStreet Party featuring a Juneteenth BBQ Cookoff, a Car Show, and vendors of all stripes.
Please join us as we celebrate African-American Freedom day in Florida (May 20, 1865, and June 19, 1865, in Texas, and elsewhere after the end of the Civil War.
The 3rd Annual Juneteenth Freedom Walk will take place at 8th and North Davis Street starting at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 19, 2021.
Assembly for the Freedom Walk Parade is 8:00 AM to 9:45 AM. We will proceed south on N. Davis Street to the Ritz Theatre located at 849 N. Davis Street. Our 9th Annual Juneteenth Family-friendly festival will begin at the conclusion of the Freedom Walk Parade. You are strongly encouraged to participate in this parade celebration of the 156th year of African American Emancipation. Miss Juneteenth will adorn the Freedom Walk Parade with her entourage and presence at The Ritz Theatre.
