Empowering Greatness Scholarship
How it started:
Farah & Farah launched the Empowering Greatness Scholarship program last year, inspired by a quote by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr:
“Everybody can be great…because anybody can serve.”
In its first year, Farah & Farah’s Empowering Greatness Scholarship provided 20 deserving high school seniors and undergraduate students with $5,000 for college tuition. Winners were selected based on stellar community service and academic performance.
How it’s going:
This year, Farah & Farah is thrilled to partner with the Florida Prepaid College Foundation and Goodwill Industries of North Florida to award 5 rising high school seniors with full tuition to a 2-year Florida College. This Plan prepays tuition and local fees for 60 lower division semester credit hours at any of the 28 Florida Colleges, and can also be applied towards a 4-year Florida university tuition or technical degrees. Eligible students must attend a public or charter school in Jacksonville, Fort Myers, Ocala, Tampa, or Orlando areas. Additional eligibility requirements can be found in the application packet.
Winners will be selected by a judges’ panel of community leaders.
Completed applications are due by Friday, September 10th, 2021. Winners will be announced on Friday, October 15th, 2021.
