Michaela Coel may have won more than her first Emmy Award tonight. In fact, she may have won the entire night with her moving victory speech. Coel's Emmy-winning series I May Destroy You highlighted the ups and downs that thousands of people, unfortunately, face after being assaulted. Fittingly, she dedicated her award to those who found pieces of themselves or their loved ones in what was a moving limited series.

"Write the tale that scares you, that makes you feel uncertain, that isn’t comfortable. I dare you — in a world that entices us to browse through the lives of others to help us better determine how we feel about ourselves, and to in turn feel the need to be constantly visible, for visibility these days seems to somehow equate to success," she said.

"Do not be afraid to disappear from it, from us for a while, and see what comes to you in the silence. ... I dedicate this story to every single survivor of sexual assault," she concluded.

I May Destroy You is the start of what is already an astoundingly inspiring career. Moving forward, Coel is set to star in the upcoming Black Panther sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Starring Coel, Letitia Wright, Danai Gurira and many other stars, the upcoming Marvel film is set to debut on July 8, 2022. In the meantime, Coel will mold her next piece that will surely capture the Emmy Awards' attention.
