Rays Rout Red Sox To Salvage Series Finale

The Tampa Bay Rays (70-57) defeated the Boston Red Sox (62-66) 12-4 on Sunday afternoon to salvage a win in the three game series that saw Boston win each of the first two games.

Isaac Paredes homered in the second and fourth inning to set the tone. The Rays pulled away with a three-run sixth innning and a four-run eighth inning to turn this game into a blowout.

Corey Kluber (9-7, 4.21) allowed three earned runs on eight hits in six innings of work which saw him strike out four and walk none.

The Rays are now off on Monday before beginning a short two-game series with the Marlins on Tuesday. First pitch from Miami Tuesday is scheduled for 6:40 PM - pregame coverage begins with Jay Recher hosting the Inside Pitch at 5:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
