Florida Suspends Four Private School Scholarships Citing Ties To China

Four schools are accused of having direct ties to the Chinese Communist Party. The Florida Department of Education last week suspended school choice scholarships for two schools in Broward County and two in Orange County. No details on the alleged connections to the CCP have been released.

The four schools are owned by SpringEduGroup, which is majority-owned by Hong Kong/Shanghai-based Primavera Capital Group.

Governor Ron DeSantis says we won't allow tax dollars to go to schools that are connected to our foreign adversaries.

He also says the FDOE is working to help impacted students in finding and enrolling in nearby eligible schools.
