Suits actor Wendell Pierce claims he was a victim of racial profiling when denied housing in Harlem. Pierce took to social media Monday and explained on CNN Tuesday that he tried to be the guarantor for a young family member who just graduated from Harvard.
The actor, who is on two TV series and filming a movie, said he just wanted to help him find a decent apartment, but even with all his proof of employment, bank statements and real estate holdings, the white apartment owner denied his rent application saying his work as an actor isn't steady.
Pierce offered to pay a year of rent in advance and still was denied. So far no response from the apartment owner.
