Woman Killed By Alligator In Lake Kissimmee

The state Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission says a 61-year-old woman from Davenport died in Tuesday's alligator attack in Lake Kissimmee. F-W-C Major Evan

Laskoski says Cynthia Diekema and her husband were on a 14-foot canoe when the gator reared up. The gator bit the victim. Her husband tried to fight it off.

Officers later recovered the woman's body. They've removed two alligators from the lake, each meaasuring 10 to 11 feet in length. F-W-C says the gator was probably reacting defensively after being bumped by the canoe.
