Pixar’s animated comedy “Hoppers” won the North American box office in its debut weekend. The movie pulled in a solid $46-million and has seen positive critical reviews and word-of-mouth. “Scream 7” dropped 73-percent in its second weekend, falling to second place with a haul of $17.3-million.
Despite the steep drop, the horror film is on its way to being the highest-grossing movie in the franchise. Maggie Gyllenhaal’s “The Bride!” debuted in third place with $7.3-million, a take below industry forecasts.
Animated film “GOAT” is still going strong, taking fourth place this time, with $6.6-million. Rounding out the top five we’ve got “Wuthering Heights” with $3.8-million.
