Lizzo has announced a new single is arriving this Friday, telling fans on Instagram, “THE NEW NATIONAL ANTHEM ‘DON’T MAKE ME LOVE U’. THIS FRIDAY. GET READYYYYY.”
Lizzo previously performed the single on “Saturday Night Live” and shared on “Songs & Stories with Kelly Clarkson” the track’s themes explores her complicated relationship with public perception.
She said, “It's like, don't make me love you if you're just gonna drag me the next day,” adding, “Don't build this false sense of security and community if you're just gonna throw me away.
It's so toxic.” The release marks a new chapter for Lizzo following her last release in September, “MY FACE STILL HURTS FROM SMILING.”
