Eddie Murphy To Receive AFI Lifetime Achievement Award

Eddie Murphy is going to receive the AFI's Lifetime Achievement Award live on Netflix. The award is in recognition of Murphy's accomplishments as an actor and his box office achievements.

This will also be the first year the special will be televised on the streamer.

The AFI says Murphy is "the most commercially successful African-American actor in the history of the motion picture business and is one of the industry's top five box-office performers overall." "The 51st AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute to Eddie Murphy" premieres May 31st on Netflix.
