Lauryn Hill responded to a post on Instagram speculating about why she never released another solo album after "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" in 1998.
She disagreed with the post's assessment and explained that the gap was due to challenges in maintaining integrity and creativity in the music industry.
Hill compared herself to Harriet Tubman in terms of speaking difficult truths to power and emphasized the importance of artistic freedom.
She highlighted the impact of her work and announced an upcoming concert with Fugees cofounder Wyclef Jean to celebrate the 30th anniversary of The Score album.
