JetBlue has raised its checked bag fees again, with many passengers now paying at least $50 for a first checked bag, up from $45.
Travelers who wait until within 24 hours of departure may pay even more, and the airline also charges higher bag fees during peak travel periods.
JetBlue says the increase is meant to offset rising fuel and operating costs while keeping base fares competitive. Some fare classes and loyalty or credit card members will continue to receive free checked bags
