Weekend Vibes: New Music Friday

posted by Jordyn -

It’s Friday and you know what that means, NEW MUSIC! Here’s a list of who and what you need to check out this weekend. Tbh, a lot of it came unexpectedly. I really appreciate it but I'm going to need for artists to keep this pace up all summer with the new heat.

CTRL IS FINALLY HERE! It was suppose to drop in February, but there were a couple delays along the way for TDE artist SZA. Her debut album features her hit single with Travis Scott titled Love Galore. Everysong on CTRL is a hit, she's saying some real stuff and I know all I can do is stomp my feet in agreement with her.

Side note: I know a lot of people have been struggling with the pronunciation of her name. I’m here to tell you that it’s pronounced like Sizza. You’re Welcome.

Ice Cube released a 25th anniversary edition of his album Death Certificate which includes three new tracks. The original album was released on October 28, 1991 and features one of the greatest diss tracks ever, No Vaseline

Chief Keef has returned with his album Thot Breaker. Out of 13 tracks, it only has one feature and it’s by Young Chop. He's been to jail, he's been dropped from his label, he's been through A LOT. But we love Sosa, so let's hope this album is a banger like the others.

Below are the singles that I couldn't mentally prep for but I'm definitely rocking with them hard.

First up is Jhene Aiko, with her single While We're Young. I'm not saying she wrote it about Big Sean but if the shoe fits.... It's a cute love songs that you can dedicate to someone or whatever.

While We're Young x Jhene Aiko

6LACK (pronounce Black, for those that were lost like I was at one point in time), also dropped a single titled That Far. Basically telling these dudes to worry about themselves and not about what he's doing.

That Far x 6LACK

Last but not least, Big Baby D.R.A.M dropped not one, but TWO singles on y'all boys. One titled Group Thang (DEMO) & The Uber Song. He's pretty much prepping the thotties for the summer in a soft way.

Group Thang (DEMO) x DRAM
The Uber Song x DRAM

Make sure to check back weekly to see what new music is out and what's worth checking out! Share with ya homies so they know what's popping too!
