After seven seasons of helping people either meet their true loves or meet their worst nightmare, 'Catfish' host Max Joseph is ready to put down his camera (for this show) and move on.
Through out the series, they've talked about Max's career in film, and there have even been times where we'd get to see special guest hosts because he was off creating something amazing. But in an open letter to fans, Max says he can no longer sustain both careers and will now focus on being a filmmaker.
In the open letter he says:
"For a while now I have been straddling two careers as TV host and filmmaker and, while this level of busy-ness is a dream come true, my life can no longer sustain it. With Catfish still going strong after 7 seasons, 115 episodes, 31 specials and showing no sign of slowing down, I feel it is finally the time for me to make my exit."
Hey guys, the time has come, sadly, for me to leave Catfish... pic.twitter.com/w21HFsfiz9— Max Joseph (@maxjoseph) August 8, 2018
This is super sad because if we're being honest, Max and his salt and his hair is the best part of Catfish. His anger when he finds out the Catfish was made up and when it's someone that they've been talking to the whole time is the best thing in the world.
His Cohost Nev Schulman had this to say about his best buds departure.
I hope Max enjoys this new full time journey and I also hope the next cohost isn't whack...because Twitter will waste NO TIME letting MTV how we feel about them.
Who do you think they will make his cohost? Maybe it'll be his wife since they keep trying so hard to involve her more and more.
