After 18 long months and posting $3 Million in bond, New Orleans rapper Mystikal is out of prison.
He's been locked up since August of 2017 due to not have enough money for the bond, but after receiving help from family and friends and getting an advance from a new record deal, he's now a free man pending his trial in May.
The rapper whose real name is Michael Tyler, was arrested on a first-degree rape charge as well as second-degree kidnapping. However his attorneys are confident in their case.
Attorney Tim Yazbeck told TMZ"It's been a long time coming for Mike, but now he can get back to being the artist he is, doing what he loves, and seeing his kids again." In addition to Yazbeck's comment, his other attorney Joel Pearce told TMZ "Based on all of the evidence we have, we strongly believe that an amicable resolution is not only possible but probable as an outcome in this case and that Michael Tyler will never be made to return to jail for a crime he didn't commit."
