Word on the Street is that the H-Town Hottie, Megan Thee Stallion (whom I must say is currently my favorite new artist) has allegedly signed a deal with Atlantic Records. The announcement on a music account on Twitter was met with mixed opinions, but primarily ones hoping that she doesn't allow them to change her style.
Recently during SXSW she sat down with Houston's Ashlee on Air and DJ Hella Yella out of Austin to discuss her time in the industry and what she has in store. They asked if she had any collabs we could expect, and Megan vaguely responded by saying that she's recently "made some new female friends that we know." Could this mean her new label mate Cardi B?! If so, I think the culture could definitely used a Megan Thee Stallion x Cardi B collab. Twitter has been pushing for Beyonce to collab with Megan for a Houston record. Personally, I'd like to here a project with City Girls once JT is released.
Of course, nothing has been confirmed or denied, but she did recently sign a deal recently with 300 Entertainment. I'll be on the look out for anything official from her team.
For all of us in Florida, the only current performance we know she has coming up on this side is at Rolling Loud in Miami, but maybe she'll be making her way to the east coast more often in the near future.
Congratulations, Tina Snow!
