March "NO SUGAR" Madness Challenge

If you know me you know that I'm a sugar addict and like most addicts we are never totally cured because the desire is always lurking in the background waiting for the right moment to take over again.Did you know sugar addiction is one of the leading causes of death?Most of us aren’t even aware we are addicted.That’s why I believe it’s important that we all take part in the March NO SUGAR Madness Challenge.

My birthday is this Saturday, I bring it up because it reminds me of a funny story when I turned 8 my mother baked a cake for my birthday. There was nothing unusual about that because she baked cakes for all my siblings birthdays and holidays. What was new was I decided since the cake was for me and my birthday I would eat it alone and devour each delicious morsel by myself.Sharing my toys was fine but sharing my birthday cake with friends and family was another story.Once I delivered this proclamation to my mom, it was made painfully clear that the one that endured the discomfort of my birth had the final say on who was eating the cake she baked. As I looked back I realized that moment was a glimpse of the power sugar would have over my life.

Interesting NOT Fun Fact: In 2017 there were Eleven million deaths worldwide linked to people eating poor diets high in sugar and simple carbohydrates, trends have that number continuing to go up.

Interesting Fun Fact: A sugar-laden diet may raise your risk of dying of heart disease even if you aren't overweight.
