A recent poll conducted by Florida Atlantic University found 29% of U.S. voters plan to vote by mail.
Leading the way, Democrats with 36% preferring to use mail-in ballots compared with 31% of Independents and only 19% of Republicans opting to vote-by-mail.
Earlier this year, Former President Donald Trump said, "If you have mail-in voting, you automatically have fraud."
The day after, Florida Senato Rick Scott, who is up for reelection, sent an email blast that Republicans should "prepare for victory by requesting you vote-by-mail ballot today."
The FAU poll also found that Republicans and Democrats both like in-person early voting and 40% of voters, mostly Independents and Republicans, prefer to cast their ballot on Election Day.
FAU's Kevin Wagner says waiting until Election Day to vote is risky, because a voter may encounter a family emergency, traffic or bad weather and not make it to the polls in time.
"In political science we have the calculous of voting which includes the "cost of voting" is to you personally on Election Day. Things can come up in your life that are more important to you than going out to vote." explains Wagner.
