Car Wedged Under Publix Truck In Deadly Miami Gardens Crash

Miami-Gardens, FL - A person died on Monday after a car collided with a turning Publix 18-wheeler in Miami Gardens, resulting in a multi-hour road closure.

The fatal car crash occurred around 3:12 a.m. Monday morning near Miami Gardens Drive and U.S. 441.

Surveillance footage captured the Publix truck leaving a nearby distribution center with its left turn signal activated.

As the truck attempted to make a left turn, the car failed to stop and collided with the semi, becoming trapped beneath it.

Emergency crews worked to extract the vehicle.

A body was later removed from the vehicle and transported by the Medical Examiner’s Office.

Miami Gardens police confirmed that the driver, an adult male, was killed in the crash.

His identity and age have not yet been released.

Family members have not provided additional details.

The roadway was closed for several hours following the crash but has since reopened.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision.
