CITY RESCUE MISSION PROVIDES SAFE SHELTER FOR HURRICANE IAN

Tuesday , September 27, 2022- Jacksonville, Fla.- City Rescue Mission (CRM) stands ready to assist those in need as Hurricane Ian impacts the First Coast. CRM will increase its overnight capacity as well as extend its hours for those seeking shelter from the Hurricane. “It is important to us to provide a safe place for our community’s most vulnerable during inclement weather events,” says Paul Stasi, CRM Executive Director. “We are ready to provide safe shelter, hot meals, and a dry bed to those who need them. We will not turn anyone away.” Guests seeking safe shelter may check-in to City Rescue Mission's New Life Inn at 234 W. State Street, Jacksonville, FL 32202, beginning Wednesday, September 28th at 1:30 p.m. CRM’s shelter will remain open each day until conditions are deemed safe. We are in collaboration with other agencies to accept their overflow and with law enforcement to accept people they pick up on the street,” says Jaime Williams, Director of Social Services. “Our goal is to make sure anyone who needs safe shelter during the storm will come to us. Our hope is that if they do not have a safe place beyond the storm that they will allow us to help them transition out of homelessness.” About City Rescue Mission City Rescue Mission (CRM) is a non-profit, faith-based organization in downtown Jacksonville that has provided help to the homeless and needy in Jacksonville and Northeast Florida for 76 years.
