- Apple is reportedly investing $1 billion into original content.
- As much as it sucks for Dre, it sucks for Apple too -- this was supposed to be its first scripted series.
- If it weren't the first release, there likely wouldn't be as much scrutiny on the project. Cook knows there will be extra eyeballs on the first release from folks who expect it to set the tone.
- Depending on what kind of deal Dre has, he may be able to shop the project around.

The tech company’s CEO shut down a six-episode series called Vital Signs because of racy scenes featuring characters engaging in orgies, doing lines of coke and pulling guns. The Wall Street Journal reports that after Tim Cook watched the show starring Sam Rockwell, Michael K. Williams and Ian McShane, he told Jimmy Iovine that the project was too violent to appear on Apple’s platform.
