The publication of Donald Trump's financial information has raised red flags for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. On Monday, she said the fact he has more than $300 million in loans coming due in the next few years is a "national security issue" and added that it raises the possibility that foreign nations could have "leverage" over the president.
Although Trump has long refused to release his tax documents,The New York Times on Sunday published financial documents related to Trump that show he's personally responsible for paying back the loans.
She added, "We take an oath to protect and defend. This president is commander in chief. He has exposure to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars, to whom? The public has a right to know." (NBC News)
