REDMAN, METHOD MAN: Verzuz Recap

They went head-to-head on 4/20 in a show that featured special guests, new project announcements, a controversial FaceTime call and a whole lot of hits.

TeeRoy's 2 Cents:

They put on a clinic last night. All killer, no filler.

Red and Meth have been one of the best live acts in hip-hop for like two decades at this point.

Don't hold your breath on Blackout 3 or Muddy Waters 2. They've been talking about both for years at this point.

No matter what Russell is accused of, it doesn't change that he helped give them their start.

Making that shout-out and taking that call shows they don't take the allegations against him as seriously as they should.

Red and Meth rocked for close to two hours, with a lengthy DJ break from DJ Scratch. The high-energy performance was genuinely well-received -- with fans excited to hear some classic cuts. They even revealed to the world that Blackout 3 and Muddy Waters 2 are both on the way.

There were some special guests like RZA, Inspectah Deck and Erick Sermon. Everything was going great until they decided to shout out Russell Simmons. The disgraced music mogul -- who has been accused of sexual assault or sexual misconduct by nearly two dozens women -- actually FaceTimed into the show, which didn’t sit well with many viewers.
