Actors Ron Cephas Jones and his daughter, Jasmine Cephas Jones, have just finished announcing the nominations for the 73rd annual Emmy Awards. Cedric the Entertainer will host the live show September 19th on CBS.
The Crown and The Mandalorian each received 24 nominations, followed by WandaVision with 23, The Handmaid’s Tale with 21, and Ted Lasso with 20. Other big nominees include Lovecraft Country, The Queen’s Gambit, and Mare of Easttown.
As far as platforms go, HBO/HBO Max leads with 130 nominations, followed by Netflix with 129, Disney+ with 71 and NBC with 46.
Mj Rodriguez is the first trans actor to be nominated for a lead role in a drama.
