That park is appropriately named.
He sure is lucky to be alive. Thank goodness there were other people around.
A trapper was able to capture the gator.
The cyclist, identified as Robert Bassett of Palm City, was riding through Halpatiokee Regional Park when he lost control of his bike, tumbled down an embankment and landed in a stream. Halpatiokee happens to be a Seminole word that means, "alligator water."
He was immediately attacked by a large gator which bit his upper thigh and torso. Fortunately, he was able to break free with the help of a bystander who was out walking his dog. There also happened to be a nurse nearby who aided him until he emergency workers arrived and airlifted him to the hospital. (CBS News)
