The Atlantic is getting busy.
We're still not at peak season.
There may be many storms to come, but let's hope they're not too damaging. No one needs that this year.
The National Hurricane Center is seeing an increase in storm activity in the Atlantic and expects a system in the Caribbean to become Tropical Storm Fred later today.
The storm is on a path to move over Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic over the next couple of days and could impact much of Florida late in the week. Despite an early start to the Atlantic hurricane season, there have been no named storms since Elsa in early July. But forecasters still expect activity to ramp up and predict an above-average number of named storms between now and November. (USA Today)
