TeeRoy's 2 Cents:

Bring on the third shot if that's what it takes to protect us from the Delta variant.

Wonder what anti-vaxxers will make of this news.

Statistics reveal that those who have been vaccinated are less likely to get seriously ill or die from COVID-19.

COVID-19: Booster Shots Advised for Most Eight Months After Vaccination

Most Americans should get a COVID-19 booster shot eight months after they received their second vaccination, the Biden administration will advise. According to administration officials familiar with the plan, third shots could be offered as early as mid- to late September.

The official announcement can come as early as this week. The plan is to advise Americans who have gotten the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine to get a third shot that will provide additional protection against the Delta variant, which has caused a surge in COVID cases around the country. The new policy won't go into effect until the FDA authorizes additional shots.

Those who received the Johnson & Johnson single shot vaccine should also get an additional dose, but they're still awaiting the results of that company's clinical trial for the second shot, which are expected later in the month. (The New York Times)
