Hope you didn't laminate your FDA vaccination card.
Some experts believe the short interval between the two shots is partly responsible for the waning immunity. In countries where the interval was longer, immunity seems to be lasting longer.
I'd feel better about this if the booster targeted Delta specifically.
Presumably with doses readily available, it won't be a mad scramble like in the spring.
The White House just unveiled the plan, which still needs an expected approval from the FDA. The rollout will basically follow the same order as the original distribution, with health care providers, nursing home residents and other seniors first in line.
Although the Pfizer and Moderna mRNA vaccines still provide strong protection against hospitalization and death, officials are concerned about waning immunity to the disease.
A booster for Johnson and Johnson recipients is also expected, but because its approval came a few months later, there's not enough data yet for a recommendation. (USA Today)
