It seems the red states skeptical of vaccinations and masks have been hit the hardest.
Hopefully, schools won't have to shut down again.
It's not too difficult to wear a mask and it could make a big difference.
As the delta variant spreads across the country, Mississippi has been hit hard since students went back to school on August 9th.
According to data from the Mississippi State Health Department, there were 20,334 students in quarantine following the first week of school. In that week, 4,521 students had COVID, bringing the number of students who have tested positive to 5,933 since the beginning of August, the health department said. (NBC News)
