COVID: Parents Support Universal Masking at School

TeeRoy's 2 Cents:

I think parents realize that masks can help keep schools open, and that they're the lesser of two evils.

Kids don't want to be home, either. And teachers say that kids are pretty good about mask mandates -- probably better than grown-ups are.

Let's hope that when booster shots start going into arms, we can stop worrying about this so much.

You wouldn't know it with all the anti-mask protests around the country, but a new poll says almost two-thirds of parents support masking in schools.

The USA Today / Ipsos poll says that 65% of parents want teachers to mask up, and 62% want universal masking in schools. 56% support a vaccine mandate for teachers.

Those numbers are likely driven by parents' desire for in-person learning. 70 percent of parents want kids in the classroom five days a week. 55% believe that their kids have fallen behind because of online learning.
