Okurrrr!
This move alone makes the AMAs must-watch this year. Smart.
I want to see Cardi hosting, giving out trophies, giving acceptance speeches, performing -- everything!
Past hip-hop stars who have hosted the AMAs include M.C Hammer, Will Smith, Queen Latifah, LL Cool J, Diddy and Pitbull.
Bardi is a five-time AMA winner, and is nominated three times this year -- for Favorite Female Hip-Hop Artist, Favorite Music Video and Favorite Hip-Hop Song. Billboard points out that this is the fifth consecutive year that a Black female star will host the AMAs, following Traces Ellis Ross, Ciara and Taraji P. Henson.
The show airs live on ABC on November 21st.
