TeeRoy's 2 Cents:
If you're caught trying to get a gun through a TSA checkpoint, you face a fine of $3000 to $10,000.
On top of COVID and all the nut jobs attacking flight attendants, airline personnel have to worry about this, too.
Officials believe this is simply a reflection of increased gun ownership in the U.S.
In fairness to Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth and Atlanta, those are three huge, busy airports. Of course they'll have more problems.
With holiday travel, that number is only going to go up.

Think long TSA lines at airports are just "security theater"? Perhaps not. Agents confiscated nearly 5700 guns at checkpoints this year, a record.
85% of those weapons were loaded with ammunition. The airports that collected the most firearms were Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth and Atlanta.
The previous record for gun confiscation was 4400, set in 2019. (CBS News)
