It looks like QR codes at restaurants are here to stay. The use of them grew dramatically during the pandemic, and not just with casual and fast-casual restaurants but higher end places too. Scanour.menu, which provides codes and the software for in-house ordering, says they've seen clients use it so they can tell diners what the night's specials are or when the kitchen has run out of a item with just a click of keyboard.
Restaurants are also looking ahead to add dynamic pricing on weekend nights and to find out the name of diners after they sit down and to save customers’ preferences for the next time they dine in.
Not everyone is down with QR codes continuing -- especially restaurants that have limited Wi-Fi or older customers that aren't as comfortable using technology. (Eater.com)
